The Ndieze OBIODUM formally referred to as Ohaneze Ndi-Igbo, UNN has debunked a trending video referring to the organization as a Ritualist group.

Recall that earlier this week, a viral video recorded and doctored by one Mc Humble, where he was referring to the organization's cultural day procession as Ritualist movement was trending in all social media platforms. The video is attached below.

The video which the organization believed to have been doctored to defame them and portray a bad image about them got many engagements from the public which prompted the organization to address the general public concerning.

Speaking on the disclaimer notice made available on Nedu's Blog, the head of the organization, HRM. Chienyi Angus Kosy (Igwe Chi Na Eme Eze 1 of UNN) condemned the defaming video and pleaded with the general public to disregard such a defaming material. He further explained some of the ethics of the organization hinting that it's mostly about promoting the Igbo culture.

Below is a full statement by the organization's head, HRM. Chienyi Angus Kosy (Igwe Chi Na Eme Eze 1 of UNN).

TRADITIONAL RULING COUNCIL UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA, NSUKKA (NDIEZE OBIODUM)

Disclaimer
Our attention has been drawn to a trending video of the Ndieze OBIODUM procession, which was formally referred to as Ohaneze Ndi- Igbo, UNN, which was tagged a "Ritualist movement in UNN" by some  miscreants.

We hereby plead with the general public to disregard such a misleading and defaming video by some agents that are always bent on defaming the Ndieze OBIODUM.

The content of the video was a procession of the organization during a cultural day (coronation of one of its members) in UNN but, the uninformed individual chose to defame the Ndieze OBIODUM by calling it a Ritualist event as can be heard in the video.

Note: The group Ndieze OBIODUM formally called Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, UNN is a cultural group that works with the school authorities in fostering unity amongst the Students community and also promote the Igbo culture which preach morals and respect amongst brethren.

The organization has been in existence for years and always make their activities open to the public, because it’s not diabolic nor has any spiritual connection that will bring secrecy.

What To Know About Ndieze OBIODUM
1. Our activities and display: Every display we showcase during our activities is dramatically acted in line with how the Igbo culture works especially during the coronation of new members.

2. The procession: This is like the Igwe and his cabinet coming to an event and the Ezemmuo/EzeNwanyi (Chief priest) being in the front to act as the eyes of the gods that sanctify/purify the road in which the Igwe and his cabinets walks on.

3. We preach Unity, Morals, Respect and Truth for that is what a titled man in Igbo land must live on and equally protect our territories as the fathers and elders of the house.

All these and more are the reasons for the existence of the group both in UNN and other tertiary institutions.

Haven said these, I HRM Chienyi Angus Kosy (Igwe Chi Na Eme Eze 1 of UNN) urge the general public, especially those that are ignorant of the group to desist from spreading false information about the organization and seek for clarification before giving out information about us.

Ndieze organization is a great forum that obeys the ethics and norms of the university, protects the image of the school and the country and equally represent the University at the national and international level.

God bless Ndi Eze OBIODUM!!
God bless UNN!!
God bless Igbo Culture!!
