It was one of the best days in the Life of Mrs Blessing Chukwuma, a widow who hails from Nenwenta in Awgu Local Government Area as the Maurice Emeka Akueme gifts her a new house.
Mrs Blessing Chukwuma who's husband was a palm tapper that lost his life many years ago while on duty was living in a covered mud house together with her seven children before becoming a new house owner, all thanks to the man of the moment, Chief Maurice Emeka Akueme.
The gentleman came to know about the window through some community leaders of his charity organization (The Maurice Akueme Foundation) from Nenwenta. The leaders met her for the first time in October, 2021 during a conference for community reports of the activities of the foundation in Awgu Local Government Area.
The coordinator of The Maurice Akueme Foundation (MAF) Nenwenta chapter shared the widow's condition in the organization and hints that she and her children suffers so much during the raining season.
The above melted the heart of the founder of MAF and he instructed the director of operations for Awgu Local Government Area to get him more information about the widow.
Nenwenta is a community in Awgu Local Government that is been blessed with a rocky environment which makes building of houses very difficult and as that requires higher amount of money to build than many other communities in Enugu State.
The above didn't stop Chief Maurice Akueme from rendering help to this poor window. He built new 2-bedroom bungalow for the window and her children and further placed her on #20,000 monthly stipend. Her children were also placed on the Maurice Akueme Foundation Scholarship Scheme.
During the commissioning ceremony of the house and the official handover of documents to the window, the good people of Nenwenta decided to celebrate the gentleman by honouring him with a Chieftaincy title. The title; "Oji Ûlô Eme Ôgô" was conferred on him by HRH. Igwe S.I. Amah (Ezedioramma 1 of Nenwenta) and his cabinets.
